We embarked upon this journey with USTCC to completely redesign its website keeping as the main goal allowing visitors to locate Tai Chi certified instructors near them with the inclusion of a search tool as part of the hero banner.
From the top of page we added quick links to the most important conversion venues for the organization such as: Join and Donate, and we also included a simple navigation with large buttons to quick identification of the main sections of the website.
With several rounds of preliminary analysis and testing to the migration scripts, Cultura was able to migrated their large base of subscriptions to the new platform without any disruptions to their recurring income funds. The new website was launched maintaining user experience as top priority.
Our creative team explored multiple options to bring up to date USTCC’s logo. Using our logo questionnaire and the feedback from client, we went step by step in the process of testing diverse shapes, icons, textures and lines to combine their new and enlarged name with their stablished color theme to achieve a refreshed identity.
The final product was a logo that combines the essence of Tai Chi with the balance within yin and yang, symmetric lines with oriental roots and the already established colors that make the new image still recognized between their old followers in the community.
USTCC is community driven and their main goal is to promote Tai Chi health exercise and to support Tai Chi instructors.
We worked together to create a searchable section with the use of GeoDirectory and its Location Manager add-on to listing certified instructors across the country and sorted by states. With more than 600 instructors in the website, this section has become very popular between people looking to learn and practice Tai Chi in their local community.
members only forum
The Tai Chi Community Forum is the hub for all USTCC members to engage with the community through discussion and a sharing of ideas.
With the use of a customized template for BBPress, we were able to migrate all topics and conversation from their old external platform and have all integrated in a unique place providing the organization with full control to access for members with an active subscription account.
The redesign of the website together with a new user experience would not be completed without a mobile version. Our front-end team worked diligently to adjust all content and tools within the limited space of the diverse of mobile devices in the market to be sure it would be always look great and accessible.
BECOMING A MEMBER
United States Tai Chi Community (USTCC) is a not-for-profit organization and their main source of funding is through their membership program, then it was very important to keep call to actions clear and visually attractive to keep conversion and maintain organization’s grow.
Their main two plans were divided in two subscription products using WooCommerce Subscriptions working together with WooCommerce Membership to gate premium content and allow the system to manage automatically, recurring fees coming trough their payments gateway.
Make a Donation
USTCC uses donations to support programs and activities across America, so it is an important venue for organization’s funding. Cultura was up to the task to build a multi-use form that was attractive and catch-eyeing. We thought the best option was to built a customized Gravityform replacing images for radio buttons to select the beneficiary of the donation as well as a dropdown to choose a project.
Large and bold buttons to select donation amounts or an open field for more generous contributions were an addition to this friendly to use donation form.
